Welcome to Harmony Unmasked - My new blog

Welcome to Harmony Unmasked, a space where you can be your true self - no apologies, no filters . A place where you can take some time out of your busy day to slow down, reflect and connect with others.

So let me introduce myself, I am Danielle and I wanted to write a blog that looks at relevant and important topics such as mental health, spirituality, the environment and awareness campaigns.

Life is messy, complicated, and sometimes downright hard. Here, we embrace all of it — the struggles, the joys, the confusion, and the breakthroughs. It’s a space to be honest, to find connection, and to remember you’re not alone on this journey. I truly hope that you find something that resonates with you and join me with your own thoughts, ideas and reflections by commenting or subscribing.

Let’s get straight into it — I hope you enjoy!

I have been back and forth with what to write for my first blog, being a persistent overthinker it was no surprise that I took ages to decide. I also live constantly with self doubt, hesitation and fear, always needing everything to be perfect. But what I am realising is life isn't perfect and it never will be. It is a series of challenges that we face and everything is there for us to learn from, but when you are in the moment, that is not always easy.

But I have pushed through the little self doubter trapped in my solar plexus (that gut feeling!), I have my Carnelian palmstone next to me to help ward of those fears about being judged and have taken the first step today!

My vision for my business Bohemian Harmony was the easy part, the detail of how to make it a reality was more difficult than I could have ever imagined. All the YouTube videos that say "start an online business in an hour, all you need is an internet connection and an idea" is optimistic to say the least. All the details and the things that happen in the background to make my online store a pleasant place to visit has been really difficult, and not because I struggle with the IT side and have to google what a HTML is for example.

It is because I am a worrier, doubter, perfectionist and so everything takes me ages to complete. This is how I am a lot of the time but I am learning to be kinder to myself and trust my true self and the universe that things will be okay. I am sure there are lots of you reading this that can resonate!

For example - You might like that bikini you want for the holiday, you save it in your basket and then browse some more. You return to the basket numerous times, you analyse it and ask questions - "will it look like that on me?", "can I afford it?", "am I too old to wear that?" and then instead of thinking yes to all and buying the outfit you like, you abandon your cart and go for something else.

You can thank your self doubter working its magic on you and keeping you "safe" for this. But imagine if you let your authentic self take the lead for once. The one who immediately put that outfit in your basket and without hesitation, questions or criticism bought it and loved it, regardless of what other people might say. Now that is a nice feeling to have!

It isn't our fault though, our "survival mode" can become quite loud and controlling at times. It becomes engrained within us and before we know it, we are living in a place where our authentic self is so quiet and shy that they rarely get a look in because we always let the fear or doubt take over. But life is too short to not be the lead star in your own life.

You are not here to live in the shadows, you are here to shine! Every day is like a mini life all on its own and I am trying to move forward with this mindset and give the real me a chance to live and I welcome you to do the same. Is it scary-of course! Is it worth it-definitely! Because when you start doing what truly makes you happy, without doubt and fear you start to feel good.

It isn't about being selfish, unkind or making rash decisions but I encourage you to think of something today that you would love to achieve, even if it is something small and imagine how it would feel to take a step towards that goal as the real you. How does it feel? Every small step is progress and the more you do it, the easier it gets so why not make today the start of something amazing, go buy that bikini!

Lets live truthfully and feel peace X
